Health insurance is a big issue in America especially with the passing
of the “obamacare”. “Obamacare” or really
known as the Affordable Care Act is briefly explained as increases in the
quality, accessibility and affordability of health insurance. It also mandates
larger that the employers insure employees more, which makes it a free or low
cost health insurance for those receiving it. In Germany on the other hand, the health
care is purchased individually through a system of public-private partnership
with little interference by the federal government. Law also in Germany requires
that all citizens have health insurance but it doesn’t give them insurance directly.
By the German government not directly
handling the insurance for its citizens it differs from how the American
government does it. Also, because the government is in direct control of Health
insurance in Germany,
we Americans have the stereotype that it makes for higher taxes. This is false;
the tax is actually very low and is also made it cheaper for everyone involved.
Where as the American government is the ones in charge of the Health Insurance
and that makes it close to no cost or even free for some citizens but for the
employers they have to pay a good portion for the insurance along with the government.
Therefore, or government spending on health insurance is very high compared to
the Germans. That is why the German Health Care Insurance system is one of the
best in the world because they don’t have as much spending as we do here in America
and also other countries around the world.
The people receiving the health
insurance in America
are better of by having the Affordable Care Act passed because they will spend
less if anything. To cover that slack though it has to be picked up by the employers
and also the federal government and makes are health care spending very high. Where
as the Germans benefit more by having the federal government stay out of the
handling of the health care and instead leaving it to private insurance
companies. Making it one of the most affordable and best health care systems in
the world.
